Stress and lack of exercise can also weaken the immune system.  You can reverse this by practicing medical Qigong (chee gong).   It has many different styles and forms. It is a way of working with the vital «Qi» energy that exists and flows through all of nature.It is the art of self-healing and self-development through a combination of breathing techniques, simple movements and postures, meditation and visualisation.

Qi gong is one of the earliest systems of self-healing ever recorded, around 2,700 years ago. History explains how Zen meditation techniques were brought by an Indian Buddhist named Bodhidarma or “Damo”, to China in the 5th century A.D.

These exercises were intended to aid the weak and ill priests of the Shaolin Monasteries, so that they could become healthier. The priests found that the exercises and meditations not only kept their monks healthy, but greatly increased their strength. They had integrated these exercises into their martial arts practices & found them to increase the effectiveness of their techniques.

There are many forms of Qi gong practice in the world today. There is Buddhist meditation Qi gong for cultivating spirituality (or eliminating “Karma”), as for a better “next life.” There is Qi gong for general health-maintenance or “Dao Yin” exercises, Martial arts Qi Gong has been developed over the centuries for cultivating precision, power & strength. Medical Qi gong comes out of Taoist philosophy whereas the body must be maintained and kept healthy so that one may live a long & happy life.
Qigong postures can be very complicated, but I found a simple yet very effective method taught by Master Chunyi Lin. Qigong balances the energy and removes energy blockages in the body.  In the past, when I would feel a headache or migraine coming on, rather than pop an aspirin in my mouth, I would do the exercises for a couple of minutes and the pain was gone.  It’s great for relieving aches and pains and long term use can reverse any disease in the body.

However, if it is your goal to reverse a disease, you must practice the movements at least 40 minutes a day.  I did this for a couple of months until my energy channels opened.  Now, I can practice Qigong just for maintainance, because you will benefit from the exercises even if you do them just 10 minutes a day or occasionally.
